Michael Lubben

Since age 5, Michael has studied classical music performance on violin and piano. At 10 he began teaching himself banjo, and he composed his first composition at age 12. Since then, he hasn’t stopped composing. In May, 2017, Michael graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBAU) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Composition, summa cum laude, a graduate from the Frederick M. Supper Honors Program, a member of the National Music Honors Society (Pi Kappa Lambda), and the Outstanding Graduate for the university’s School of Music. During his PBA career, he was winner of the Sylvia S. Brainen Piano Competition and a two-time winner of the the university’s Concerto Competition—the second time in collaboration with his triplet brothers. Michael also received the privilege of meeting his wife Karol at PBAU. Following their wedding in July, 2017, they enjoy their life together in West Palm Beach. As a string trio, piano trio, and folk band (The Lubben Brothers), Michael and his family currently perform throughout Palm Beach County. Passionate about teaching instrumental lessons, Michael has taught piano, violin and banjo for four years, his students’ levels ranging from beginner to advanced. He also enjoys teaching beginning guitar, mandolin, ukulele, and voice.
